As of July 1, 2024, Oklahoma House Bill 3958 has been in effect and governs digital communications between school staff and students.  

House Bill 3958 requires school personnel engaging in electronic or digital communications with an individual student to include the student’s parent or guardian in the electronic or digital communication unless the communication is on a school-approved platform and related to school and academics.  Morrison Public Schools adopted the use of Remind 101 and GroupMe as a platform that could be used until a comprehensive school platform could be established.

The district has purchased StudentSquare which is a student communication companion to ParentSquare which will replace the use of Remind 101 and GroupMe effective Monday, August 26, 2024.  StudentSquare provides a safe and secure platform for student communication at school.  The two-way group messaging, private conversations, district-wide alerts and notices, and simple user interface will keep everyone connected.  

 

The app allows students 5th-12th grades to:

  • View all classroom communication, receive app notifications

  • Stay up to date on the latest school News and Announcements

  • Receive/send direct messages to staff members

  • View photos and videos posted by teachers

  • Fill forms online

  • View the school and classroom calendar 

  • View class schedule

Login into StudentSquare 

Your 5th -12th grade student has an email that the school has created. Students should know their email address and password. (i.e. jenhak28@morrisonps.com)

After you download and install the StudentSquare app to your student’s device, your student can enter their school email address and password. You can also sign-in using the website: https://www.mystudentsquare.com/signin if you chose not to download the app. 

Once logged in, you can access Help Articles for more information on navigating and using StudentSquare.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my child doesn’t have a phone for the app? 

  • No worries! Currently all students have their main guardian contact’s phone number listed with their StudentSquare account. Student’s will still receive notifications through their school email and guardians will receive a text notification. 

 

How do I change the notification settings in StudentSquare?

 

What if I do not give my child permission to download the StudentSquare App?

  • Morrison Public Schools respects your decision. Student’s will receive notifications via email only if guardians chose to opt-out of StudentSquare. Please complete the opt-out form if you do not wish for your student/s to download the StudentSquare App.
