    Oklahoma Immunization Law

All 7th grade students must have Tdap.

School immunization laws are one of the most effective ways to prevent disease outbreaks.  Outbreaks of diseases such as diphtheria, polio, and measles were common in schools before vaccines were available.  Schools were major sites for transmission of these diseases.  School immunization laws work and now these diseases have almost vanished from the United States.  We all have our parents and grandparents to thank for supporting these laws.  If we keep vaccinating our children we can look forward to a future when these diseases will be eradicated.

Updates to SB 658, prohibiting local school boards from requiring COVID-19 vaccination for admittance or attendance, requiring vaccine passports, implementing a mask mandate for unvaccinated students, and prohibiting a mask mandate unless the local jurisdiction is subject to a state of emergency declared by the Governor. To verify the district does not exclude a student based on vaccine passports or mask requirements. Further that the district gives the option of a signed exemption form or immunizations on its website and any notice or publication.70 O.S. § 1210.189, 70 O.S. § 1210.190, 70 O.S. § 1210.191
